After creating an experimental and atmospheric sound in Mildew, I wanted to approach my music in a more rhythmic direction. I started looking to improve my drum programming as the next step in my production, so I began working on that craft while collaborating with Roy Blair on his album back in January. After coming home from that trip as well as finishing up two headlining shows in New York and LA, I began making music that had a good bounce and that would translate well in my future live performances. Dog Eat was one of the first drafts I started working on. With a catchy lead synth, sugary hook, and the most present drums in any of my songs, it’s definitely my most poppy release yet. Unfortunately, my hopes of performing this live have been delayed, but I’m looking to keep pumping out more pop heavy singles to perform once all this is said and done. - Jack Larsen
